About the role:

As the Technical Services Manager, you will lead a team of qualified technical staff to oversee the daily operations and supervision of all critical infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, and fire systems. You will be accountable for the team's execution of maintenance, change control, and incident response activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards, procedures, and accurate reporting.

This hands-on role is embedded within CDC’s Operations team, working onsite to uphold service excellence and operational resilience. As a key leader, you’ll help maintain CDC’s reputation as ANZ’s premier specialist data centre provider, while fostering team pride and strong customer engagement.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Provide cultural and operational leadership across critical infrastructure operations, ensuring alignment with CDC's values, leadership fundamentals, and long-term business goals.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering knowledge sharing, capability development, and strong stakeholder engagement across service providers, contractors, and internal staff.
  • Oversee daily operations and preventative maintenance activities for mechanical, electrical, and fire systems, ensuring safety compliance, regulatory certification, and seamless business continuity.
  • Manage service provider relationships and maintenance contracts, ensuring delivery excellence, contract adherence, and continuous performance improvement.
  • Drive optimisation strategies for data centre infrastructure, lead escalations and complex problem-solving efforts, and represent the team in technical forums and operational solutioning workshops.
  • Support procurement, financial objectives, and risk mitigation initiatives, ensuring the resilience of critical infrastructure and the delivery of client and organisational outcomes.

About you:

This role would be suitable for a candidate who comes from a strong leadership background within a critical infrastructure operations-based industry.
  • Experience supervising technical teams and contractors, prioritising workloads, and enforcing compliance with regulated safety procedures in similar critical environments.
  • Exposure in managing systems such as CRAC units, UPS, generators, and Building or Energy Management Systems.
  • Sound financial management skills, particularly with OPEX budgets

Essential:

Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
