About the Role
Due to an increase in production requirements, Thomas Foods International are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician – Mechanical to join the team at our Tamworth facility.
The main objective of the role is to maintain, service and repair plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations with a focus on upholding safety and maximising production in the mechanical operations of the manufacturing facility.
The main areas of responsibility are, but not limited to, that the site is fully health, safety and environmentally compliant, the ongoing preventative maintenance of all plant and equipment, resolve operational or equipment problems safely and diligently and work well as a valued member of the site maintenance team.
This position is full time, 42hours per week with the Maintenance department running rotating roster, with additional overtime when required. Salary on offer is 115k, plus 11.5% superannuation.

Understands and applies quality control techniques; Exercises good interpersonal and communications skills; Exercises keyboard skills; Exercises discretion appropriate to his/her classification level; Performs work under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment; Operates lifting equipment incidental to his/her work; Main dutiesConduct regular inspections and maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operation and minimum downtime
Carrying out the site’s preventative maintenance program as well as attending to breakdowns and using technical knowledge and sound problem-solving skills to resolve issues.Be responsible for the mechanical maintenance of the following services while on shift: Hot water temperature, hand wash water temp, hot/cold water supply, air supply, electrical services, refrigeration and defrosting cycles as well as irrigation and effluent services.
Perform mechanical maintenance on site equipment such as Blade stop band saws, Jarvis equipment, Cryovac rotary equipment, Multivac tray sealers, modular belt conveyors, refrigeration equipment, hot water systems, boilers, light stainless steel fabrication work, overhead chain conveyor systems.
Set up, commission, maintain and operate sophisticated maintenance, production and test equipment and /or systems involving the application of computer operating skills.Work on various machinery and equipment hydraulically and pneumatically controlled by complex digital or analogue control systems like air over hydraulic and power over hydraulic as well as air over air and power over air control systems.
Document maintenance and repair work, creating detailed reports on interventions and outcomes.
Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
Qualifications and Experience
Certificate III or higher/equivalent with a background in mechanical applications in hydraulic and pneumatic trouble shooting is preferredCurrent trade licence (preferred, not essential)
Minimum 1 year experience with mechanical products
Knowledge of tools and machines, concepts and methodologies of manufacturing
Industrial Maintenance background preferred, not essential
