An exciting opportunity has become available for a Building Permits Officer to join our dynamic team. You will be committed to delivering excellent service excellence, the timely issuing of documents required for commencement of our building and will work independently while being supported by our experienced management team.

- Competitive salary in the range of $70-80K + Super.
- Work independently with the support of experienced building professionals.
- Preparation of site plans and structural engineering drawings to support applications.
- Preparation of applications and support documents for approving authorities.
- Collection of all necessary information and permit documents required for submission to the Building Surveyor.
- Tracking the progress of applications and updating all stakeholders.
- Updating Project Documentation and Contracts as required.
- Monitoring the Construction Programme and corresponding with Customers, Buildings Surveyors, Councils and Services Authorities as required.
- Processing any further information requests from the Approving Authorities and the Building Surveyor.
- General Admin duties inclusive of answering calls and fielding general questions about our buildings and the permit processes.
- Maintaining and updating correspondence and scheduling registers.
- Compiling the final Approved Building Permit document packages required for customers and builders to support their building’s construction.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage customer service expectations.
- Strong admin skills - highly organised, reliable and punctual.
- An eye for detail.
- Well-presented with a pleasant personable manner.
- A good sense of humour when facing challenges.
- Ability to interpret building plans and engineering documents and experience using AUTOCAD and REVIT.
- Experience with MS Word, MS Excel and basic accounting procedures (invoicing, purchase orders etc) is needed.
- Experience in dealing with building surveyors and local councils for permit compliance is an advantage.
- Ideally, you will have at least 2 years of relevant work experience in a similar role in the building industry.
- A diploma, bachelor’s degree in the relevant field is highly desirable. Having a Master’s degree in project management is preferred.
