Clinical Team Manager - Oncology Trials

What you'll be doingThe Westmead Medical Oncology Clinical Trial Unit (MOCTU) is rapidly expanding, managing approximately 135 active trials. This role primarily maintains oversight, support, and development of the clinical (patient facing) staff of MOCTU. In this role you will:

Lead a large team of experienced & junior staff (Senior CTCs, CTCs & CTAs).
Maintain active & direct management MOCTU's portfolio of trials & patients.
Ensure efficient trial planning and execution.

In collaboration with the MOCTU Operations Manager, drive continuous improvement in the unit's services.

Relevant health related qualification and/or experience in the field of medical oncology clinical research and clinical trials.
Extensive experience running clinical trials at site (public or private hospital).
Demonstrated excellent leadership skills either as a line manager or as a mentor/trainer to Clinical Trial Coordinator role.
Experience working in, or dealing with, sponsors and industry.
Previous experience in clinical trial audits either Sponsor lead or regulatory body audits (for cause audits also acceptable).
Demonstrated high level interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, such as negotiation and report writing applicable in both a research and administrative context.

Demonstrated understanding of the legislation, codes and guidelines relevant to clinical and research ethics, and the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, relevant privacy acts and guidelines, the Human Tissue Act, and the Therapeutic Goods Act as it relates to use of medications in human research

Proven highly developed delegation skills and staff coaching skills.
