Senior Estimator

Overview:

This role will not only enhance your expertise in tank-related projects but will also enable you to work alongside ongoing construction projects. You will be responsible for assessing and evaluating the financial aspects of these projects, contributing to the overall budgeting and cost management process, while also broadening your skill set in estimating for diverse construction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Capability to perform most discipline estimates, producing a complete estimate for all required work from basic takeoffs through final cost (all materials, fabrication, subcontracts, construction, localisation, and indirects) for all work required for a project.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial proposals, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Develop estimates based on estimating standards, closeout data, and the scope of work.
• Collaborate with commercial, operations, supply chain, engineering, and fabrication to gather necessary information and insights.
• Analyse project specifications, drawings, bills of material, historical data and other. documentation to determine project costs using labor and material pricing schedules.
• Prepares the estimate by the work breakdown structure and chart of accounts.
• Prepare and present comprehensive bid proposals to clients and management.
• Obtain review and input from Legal, Tax, Insurance, Finance, and other corporate support groups.
• Has the ability to recommend cost-reduction and value-engineering options.
• Performs risk analysis and leads risk register workshops.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, standards, and best practices to ensure estimates reflect current market conditions.

Local Requirements:

• The Senior Estimator will be responsible for handling small and medium EPC estimates and large estimates under the guidance of the Estimating Manager.
• This role requires an estimating professional with a deep understanding of the construction industry in the local region and a proven ability to deliver precise estimates.
• This is a full-time permanent role is situated in Kwinana Office.

Qualifications:

• College or University Diploma, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
• 10 + years structural, mechanical, and piping estimating experience.
• Strong understanding of Australian construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
• Expert in MS Excel.
• Knowledge of tank construction is highly advantageous.
• Exposure to engineering, procurement, fabrication, and/or construction.
• Experience with VBA programming is valued.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
