The Opportunity
As a Design Engineer, you will lead the activities of a cross functional team. Candidates at all levels will be considered for this key technical role. Your role may include the following deliverables:
- Full design cycle of intricate mechanical components of their solutions, which includes interfaces for electrical, electronics and optical subsystems.
- Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to source parts and services.
- Conducting R&D by building, modifying, and testing prototype opto-electro-mechanical parts.
- Inspection, assembly, and testing of components and systems.
- Assist in managing internal and external projects relating to R&D and manufacturing.
- Support the in-house manufacturing team with their day-to-day activities and ongoing projects.
- Maintain detailed, accurate technical documentation of all design and assembly processes. Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and registration as an engineer in Victoria, or equivalent.
- At least 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and project management.
- 2D and 3D CAD modelling software expertise, and experience in FEA/FEM and simulations.
- Knowledge of CAD, CAM, and precision fabrication methods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with optics, electro-mechanical systems, mechatronics, will be advantageous.
- Prior experience in medical device development, or experience in working in an ISO13485, ISO9001 or similar regulated industry is desirable. The Offer
