About the Role
An Exciting opportunity exists at our Bordertown plant for a qualified Meat Inspector to join their team. This position is responsible for assisting in the implementation and management of Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems for the Company’s Meat Processing facility, and performing ante-mortem and post-mortem duties as an Australian Government Authorised Officer.The annual salary for this position is above $73,150 plus superannuation.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
Post-mortem and ante-mortem inspection of meat under the procedures developed from the Australian Export Meat Inspection System (AEMIS) guidelines.Monitor processes and product to ensure compliance to Company, regulatory and customer Meat Safety Standards / specifications.
Record monitoring results and document corrective actions for non-compliances.
Report non-compliances to the QA Manager – Meat Processing or Senior QA Officer – Process.
Advise Managers and employees of Company QA and QC requirements.
Foster a food safety culture within the organisation.
Participate in the training and development of new QA employees.
Participate in the development and maintenance of QA Manuals, SOP’s and Work Instructions.
Maintain record keeping systems and interpret data.
Undertake sampling of meat and meat products including swabs for microbiological status.
Undertake internal audits and investigations into incidents.
Assist senior QA staff during external audits.
Assist in the implementation of Company WHS and Environmental systems.
Adhere to all Company policies, procedures, processes and work instructions at all times.
Perform other duties as directed.
About you
Cert III Meat Processing or minimum 3 years relevant work experienceProven leadership and supervisory capabilities
Highly developed interpersonal skills
Sound technical knowledge of meat processing facilities
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of quality assurance principles and HACCP
Sound knowledge and application of workplace health and safety regulations
Availability to work to operational requirements.
