Our client, Sonic Yoni Pty Ltd t/a Yellow Matter Brewing, is seeking passionate and experienced Chefs to join the team. These are full-time positions, offering a competitive salary between AUD $70,000–$80,000 per annum plus superannuation, negotiable based on skills and experience.

Scope of the role:- Plan, prepare, and execute a seasonal, fermentation-driven menu including brunch dishes, stone-baked pizzas, and share plates.
- Apply advanced cooking techniques such as koji curing, fermentation, pickling, and use of modern kitchen equipment.
- Ensure consistency, presentation, and quality across all dishes, including signature items like XO mushrooms, pork & egg burgers, and nduja pizzas.
- Supervise, mentor, and train kitchen staff to uphold high standards of preparation, safety, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu execution, food costings, and sourcing of local and specialty ingredients.
- Monitor kitchen operations during peak service periods to ensure timely preparation and delivery of dishes.
- Conduct stock control, order supplies, and maintain appropriate inventory levels to support daily operations.
- Enforce strict food safety, hygiene, and WHS compliance in all areas of kitchen operations.
- Assist in analysing recipes and pricing to maintain cost-efficiency while preserving food quality.
- Coordinate production schedules and allocate kitchen tasks based on staffing and service needs.
- Engage in regular innovation and improvement of menu offerings, aligning with seasonal produce and culinary trends.
- Participate in food and beer pairing development to complement the brewery’s evolving tap list.
- Certificates III & IV in Commercial Cookery from Australia
- Have at least 2 years of work experience as a Chef in a similar cuisine
- Good knowledge of occupational health and safety (WHS) and HACCP.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Be willing to relocate if you are interstate or in other cities.
