About the Role

King Irving is looking for a driven and motivated Legal Officer (Researcher) to join our team to ensure compliance with legal standards and regulations. This full-time role is based in Sydney with a salary range of $110,000 to $120,000 plus superannuation.

Job Tasks
Legal
  • Research and analysis on legal advice and services
  • Preparation and review of offer documents, including Information Memoranda, Product Disclosure Statements and Fund constitutions
  • Work with and assist the senior solicitors in reviewing legal opinions and advice
  • Work with the management and senior solicitors to provide timely legal advice to our clients
Licensing
  • Legal advice on licensee structure and related issues
  • Project management of client’s progress on regulatory compliance and strategic advocacy
  • Preparation and review of AFSL lodgment documents
Compliance
  • Advice on changes with legal parameters on that might affect business operations.
  • Review and maintain the core Compliance Plan and Framework, and the CAR review process
  • Contribute to adherence with corporate governance best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the preparation and review of the quarterly legislative overview
  • Assist management on quarterly compliance review and checks with clients
  • Assist in legal due diligence activities to assess potential risks or liabilities for the company
  • General compliance review questions and assistance
Project Management
  • Set up and then structure the approval and ongoing certification processes for our CAR business
  • Interpret and apply legislation to provide informed and accurate advice to the clients
  • Liaise with clients and maintain the project Work In Progress list to optimise business flow
  • Provide cross team training on legal matters, including compliance, ethical conduct, and risk management, as directed by the management
Skills Required
  • A law degree or equivalent qualification
  • At least 1 year of demonstrated experience in the field
  • Experience in legal research, planning and analytics is desirable
