Payroll Officer – Immediate Start (Temp to Perm)

We’re seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a dynamic organisation located in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. This is a high volume, end to end payroll role ideally suited to someone with a background in health, education or NFP environments.

Day to Day functions:

• Process end to end payroll using SAP for a large, high volume workforce
• Manage payroll related queries including leave, entitlements, superannuation, and taxation
• Interpret and apply EBAs, Awards, and relevant legislation accurately
• Maintain and update employee records within SAP or other large systems.
• Process new hires, terminations, contract variations, and ensure timely data entry
• Manage adjustments, including overpayments, back pay, and timesheet corrections
• Support month end processes including reconciliations and payroll reporting

Requirements/experience:

• Proven experience in end to end payroll processing within a high volume environment
• Strong working knowledge of SAP (desirable)
• Solid understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, EBAs, and compliance obligations within Health, Education or NFP (Desirable)
• High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
• Ability to prioritise and multitask in a deadline driven setting
• Excellent communication skills with a proactive approach to resolving payroll queries
• Experience within the health, education or NFP sectors (highly desirable)
