Corporate Counsel
Vestas Wind Australia are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced corporate lawyer who is passionate about the many facets of the green energy industry to join our Global Development team as Corporate Counsel.
We are seeking a Corporate Counsel that is passionate about making an impact on our global efforts to shape the world's energy future, and help drive our shared goal of accelerating the global transition to renewable energy.As Corporate Counsel, you will provide legal support for the APAC divisions of Vestas' Global Development team, which is headquartered in Singapore.
Ideally the office location will be Melbourne, although Vestas are open to people working form other countries in our APAC region.
Responsibilities:
Opportunity to work closely with an entrepreneurial and fast growing project development team in APAC, to support all stages of a renewable energy project development lifecycle - including due diligence, land campaigns, procurement, interconnection, offtake, acquisitions, joint ventures, sales, construction and disputes
Ability to work on a varied and broad range of transaction documents in compliance with company guidelines and preferences, in each case while being encouraged to participate in and help shape strategic initiatives to further business objectives
Broad exposure managing external counsel across a wide range of practice areas, including M&A, tax, permitting, environmental, interconnection and other regulatory areasEmpowered and equipped with resources to strive for constant improvement and advancement of best practice through development and implementation of systems, processes, guidelines and forms to create efficiencies and lay groundwork for future growth of the business
QualificationsLicensed in law with least 2 years of experience practicing law in the renewable energy industry (in-house experience a plus)
Flexibility with travel based on company needs and goals
