We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time

basis. Petite Restaurant is the newest French bistro and wine bar in the Brisbane Fortitude Valley/New Farm area. With a beautiful fit out. a state of the art kitchen and an exciting and fun kitchen team, we offer the opportunity for a new chef to join them in creating classic yet imaginative french food along side an exciting french wine list.

You will be responsible for delivering an exceptional culinary experience to our customers.
Your primary role will be to ensure that back of house delivers a service beyond compare and
that our customers’ expectations are consistently exceeded. You will provide leadership to
other kitchen staff, including supervising and training staff in a lead by example, professional
manner. You will take pride in developing an atmosphere of team spirit within the kitchen

with everybody working towards common goals.

Your tasks will mainly involve:
  • Preparing and cooking food.
  • Kitchen management.
  • Maintaining high levels of service that consistently exceeds the expectations of our
guests.
  • To understand and be aware at all times of food costs and percentages and understand
how daily costs influence profit and loss results.
  • To monitor stock movement, to ensure stock security.
  • To ensure minimum kitchen wastage.
  • To devise, draft, cost, order and implement seasonal menus.
  • To assist with the provision of training and development of staff in kitchen and FOH.
  • To complete and comply with all company policies and procedures as outlined in the
induction manual.
  • Ensure that all equipment is working safely and compliant with manufacturers
guidelines for operation and to report any failures to management.
  • To comply with the conditions of the food hygiene policies.
  • To be able to ensure all relevant sections in the kitchen are ready for service by
11am/5pm.
  • To motivate, coach, mentor and team build.
  • To communicate relevant information to Front of House team for the purpose of an

effective service.

Required Education, Experience, Skills & Attributes:
  • AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Cookery / Hospitality or a
similar qualification; or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for
the formal qualifications above.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience is essential for this role. Experience in French
cuisine would be highly desirable.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Uncompromising attitude towards high quality food and presentation.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent planning skills and ability to think on your feet.

We are offering a generous salary commensurate with experience, in the vicinity of $74,000 -
