We're seeking a dedicated Risk and Compliance Officer to join the Commercial & Legal team and play a key role in strengthening our governance, risk, compliance, and privacy functions. About the Role

This newly created role is central to driving risk and compliance frameworks across the organisation. Reporting to the Director of Commercial and Strategy, you'll lead risk governance and support compliance with regulatory requirements across multiple domains including privacy, telecommunications and corporate governance.

You'll also have the chance to improve and automate processes, manage internal reporting, and lead risk reviews with senior stakeholders, including preparing reports for board-level committees.

What You'll Be Doing

Risk Management
  • Drive adoption of risk frameworks and governance practices
  • Facilitate risk identification, mitigation planning and action tracking
  • Lead risk reviews with executive leadership and board committees
  • Deliver regular risk reporting and analysis
Compliance
  • Develop and manage a Compliance Management Framework
  • Maintain compliance calendars and lead internal control testing
  • Embed compliance monitoring into business activities
  • Track, manage and report on any compliance issues or breaches
Privacy
  • Own and update privacy policies and procedures
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and training
  • Advise on data handling practices and respond to privacy incidents
  • Lead continuous improvement of privacy frameworks
What You'll Bring
  • A relevant degree in Law, Business, or a related discipline
  • 3-5 years' experience in risk management, compliance, auditing or governance
  • Familiarity with Australian privacy legislation and the Telecommunications Act
  • Strong documentation, stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • A passion for process improvement and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Risk or compliance certifications (e.g. GRC, auditing) are highly regarded
