Role Summary
The International Product Associate will provide strategic support and implement investment products which are intended to serve Nuveen’s international client base. In addition, the Associate will support the interaction between product various internal governance bodies including fund boards and product committees.The International Product Associate will achieve results through collaboration across the global product organization.
Responsibilities:
- With a focus on supporting the APAC region, the role will focus on both public and alternative investment strategies
- Supports the creation of strategic product plans and go-to-market strategies for APAC institutional and private wealth investors
- Supports the launch and implementation of new products and sub-advisory mandates through collaboration with cross-functional teams and project management; and assist managing the internal governance and approval process
- Prepares monthly and quarterly reporting packages on Nuveen fund performance, competitive landscape and industry flows from APAC institutional and private wealth investors
- Ongoing monitoring of development in regulations, tax, accounting, insurance solvency frameworks across APAC and analyze their implications on Nuveen’s existing product offerings and future product development
- Supports on-going reporting to various fund and management company boards
- Serves as subject matter expert, providing guidance and detailed product information to distribution and clients for due diligence questions, client servicing, offering memoranda, and other purposes.
- Ensures products are compliant with local regulatory requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, investments, law or engineering required.
- 3+ years of direct experience in asset management, preferably working in investment or product related functions.
- Experience with investment product regulations in APAC and/or Europe (AUT, VCC, UCITS, AIFMD, etc)
- Knowledge of public and alternative asset classes including equity, fixed income, private equity, private debt, and/or real assets.
- Strong presentation and analytical skills.
- Cultural fit and desire to work in a team environment
- Advanced degrees in business, finance, investments, law or engineering preferred.
- Structuring experience with investment management, either from sell-side/buy-side firm or a reputed law firm.
- Experience with various markets in the region including but not limited to Australia, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, and/or Taiwan.
- Strong interests in navigating new concepts/markets and ability to analyse complex topics
- Experience with public and alternative asset classes
- Chinese language skills would be beneficial
- CFA or CAIA designation.
- Must be self-directed with ability to escalate as needed
- Strong written and verb al communication skills
