Our client, a rapidly growing business located in the Sydney CBD, is looking for a talented and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. This role offers a hybrid working model (3 days in the office / 2 days from home) after training.

You will work closely with a team of 10 finance professionals in Sydney, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the team as the company continues to expand. In this position, you will be directly reporting to the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Month-end journals: You will be responsible for processing essential month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, amortization, and inter-company transactions. This ensures that all financial data is accurately recorded and aligned with the company's accounting standards.
  • Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register: You will manage and update the fixed asset register, ensuring that all acquisitions, disposals, and asset depreciation are properly tracked in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Bank and Balance Sheet Reconciliations: You will reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet items on a regular basis, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Management Reporting: You will assist with the preparation of management reports, providing valuable financial insights and analysis to help inform decision-making within the business.
  • Tax Compliance: You will support tax compliance activities, including the preparation and lodgement of GST and BAS returns, ensuring the business remains compliant with relevant tax regulations.
  • Assisting with Transactional Queries: As needed, you will assist with transactional queries from various teams, resolving any issues related to financial transactions, payments, or invoicing.

Requirements:

  • Strong accounting background with hands-on experience in core accounting functions.
  • CPA/CA qualified or currently working towards achieving your qualification.
  • A combination of experience in both a firm and commercial environment is highly desirable.
  • Proven ERP experience, preferably with Oracle Fusion or a similar system.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to accurately process complex financial data.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and resolve queries.
  • Must hold current Permanent Residency or Citizenship in Australia.
