Sydney - Property Sales Trust Accountant

We are currently looking for a Property Sales Trust Accountant for a global company in the heart of Sydney. In this role, you will report directly to the Head of Finance and be part of a great team culture. This is a hybrid role with up to 2 days working from home available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily receipting of holding deposits and issuing trust receipts to purchasers, ensuring accurate financial records.
- Processing trust releases for holding deposits at the time of settlement.
- Accurately recording all financial transactions, including ledger journals, to maintain transparency and precision in our accounts.
- Communicating with internal stakeholders to obtain the necessary property settlement confirmations and approvals.
- Corresponding with vendors to confirm their bank details, ensuring all payment information is correct and up to date.
- Preparing monthly bank reconciliations, conducting ledger month-end closes, and assisting with year-end rollovers.
- Coordinating with external auditors to ensure timely sign-off on both monthly and annual audit requirements.
- Maintaining records in compliance with property sales legislative requirements and adhering to company procedures.
Requirements:
- A first experience as a Trust Accountant, with expertise in both sales and leasing across different states. You should have experience in end-to-end property sales and a strong understanding of the audit process and legislative requirements specific to property sales in NSW.
- A thorough understanding of trust legislation across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong time management skills, enabling you to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
