We are currently seeking an experienced and creative Cook to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. Job Advertisement: Full-Time Cook – Banter Coffee House, Manly West, QLD

• Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast and lunch items including baked goods, gourmet toasts, egg-based dishes, salads, burgers, and daily specials.
• Ensure all dishes are consistently prepared and presented in line with Banter’s quality standards.
• Check ingredients for quality and freshness before use to maintain high food standards.
• Measure and season ingredients accurately to deliver balanced flavours across our diverse menu.
• Monitor and adjust cooking equipment such as grills, ovens, and fryers to ensure optimal temperature and performance.
• Store raw and cooked food in designated temperature-controlled areas to uphold food safety standards.
• Modify meals to accommodate allergies, intolerances, and other special dietary requirements as requested.
• Portion and plate dishes with attention to detail, garnishing them appropriately before serving.
• Support the Head Chef in managing food inventory and estimating daily ingredient needs based on menu plans.
• Assist in menu development by suggesting new seasonal dishes or improving existing ones.
• Always maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen, following safe food handling practices.
• Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service flow during peak hours.

• Employment Type: Full-Time (38 hours per week)
• Salary: $76,000 – $80,000 plus superannuation per annum
• Qualification Required: AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Culinary or a closely related field
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in a similar role
