Head Chef
We are currently looking for an excellent Head Chef to join our kitchen team!
Our food focus is modern Neapolitan-style pizza, old-world Italian favourites, including fresh pasta, and sauces and gelato made from scratch. We are looking for someone who can add value to the team and take it to the next level.
We are offering $78,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation and potential sponsorship for the right candidate, with regular shifts ! Salary is dependent on your level of experience and ability to lead service efficiently.
As Head Chef you will be responsible for kitchen operations including production, cleanliness, inventory and safe systems of work in a single kitchen. The Sous Chef will support the Executive Chef, have an eye for detail and maintain high quality and standards.You will also have a team to manage so leadership skills will be an advantage.
To be successful in this role, you must:
have a strong understanding of the sections in a kitchen with a similar level of complexitybe an expert in Italian cuisine, with a strong experience in pizza stretching, pasta making, sauce making, and desserts (gelatos)
ability to make food costing
rostering staff
organising chef training program
have a strong experience of management
be accustomed to a la carte service.
private functions or catering exposure is appreciated.
have a commitment to this industry and must have completed Cert III, IV or a bachelor's degree in hospitality management or the culinary arts
must possess knowledge of HACCP
understand dietary requirements including allergies and intolerances and deliver dishes to meet the needs of customers
have a positive, growth mindset and resilient personality
