Accountant
The Client:
S.Michael Cleaning Services Pty Ltd is an Australian company dealing with facilities management services. They now seek an experienced full time Accountant to join the team in Brisbane in QLD.- The Role:
- The Responsibilities:
Timely preparation of monthly & annual reports such as budget, finance, balance sheet, expense and forecast as well as weekly cashflow statement and provides commentary to management team to ensure stability and continuous improvement of operations.
Verifies the accuracy of financial data on reports and ensures that it is in line with accounting standards.
Conduct checks and advises about costs of goods sold, income and expenditures of the company.
Analyze variances against budget and prior month’s actual costs. Ensures monthly and year to date budgets are accurately in linked.
Participates in monthly and year end close activities including income statement reviews and balance sheet reconciliations for precise reporting.
Maintains General Ledger. Handles Fixed Asset Register.
Cash matching, reconciliation of bank account statements and credit card statements to company’s books and intercompany transaction reconciliations.
Preparation and processing of tax returns for the business. BAS / PAYG / GST reporting.
Coordinates with the bank regarding fund management.
Ensures payment to vendors are within the approved payment terms and outstanding credits are paid in a prompt manner; resolves invoice discrepancies.
Development and analysis of Debit, Credit & other internal controls. Ensures supplier invoices are within budget.
Prepare and process payroll, payroll tax superannuation and work cover.
Managing HR file / employee contract timesheet file.
Accommodates external auditor requirements in preparation of annual report.
Participates in continuous improvement of financial implementation, plans and processes
The Requirements:
At least a Bachelor Degree in Accounting
Must have at least 3 years’ accounting experience in a professional capacity gained within Australia
Must have at least 3 years’ accounting experience in the facilities management services industry
Must have at least 3 years’ commercial experience in MYOB Accounting and XERO software
Must have at least 3 years’ commercial experience with company income tax and GST
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy with the ability to multi-task
Shows initiative, has strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset
Demonstrates outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time-management skills with exceptional ability to work under pressure
