Supply, Distribution & Procurement Manager

We are a successful Australian company looking for a fulltime Supply, Distribution & Procurement Manager for our Medical Grade computing devices, Embbeded Computing and technology for the Health Industry in Australia.

Our company is the Australian distributor of a number of major global manufacturers and technology companies. In our 60+ years in business we have provided technology to hundreds of organisations including some of Australia’s largest and best-known companies.

The primary focus of the role is to plan inventory, organise, direct, control and coordinate the supply, storage and distribution of the Medical Grade Computer devices and Embedded Computing manufactured by overseas organisations predominantly from Taiwan and China.

We represent companies that provide a range of embedded computer hardware, software and other ICT parts and services to the Health market, industrial, business, government, professional and other organisations. This opportunity exists for an experienced and dedicated person to join our team which is based in Wollongong NSW.

The position will involve significant amounts of national and international travel annually.

The key criteria for suitability for this role are:
  • A proven medium term track record in industrial computing technology procurement, sales, business development and account management skills;
  • Demonstrated experience with customers in healthcare, transportation, manufacturing and defence industries;
  • In depth knowledge of the embedded computing, medical grade technology and ICT market and products;
  • In depth knowledge of overseas manufacturers in these fields for potential partnership;
  • Proven skills at developing strategy and proposals for winning customer projects;
  • Ability to use a network of contacts to engage with strategic suppliers for offering new solutions to the Australian market;
  • Relevant university or other education and training;
  • Excellent planning and communications skills;
  • A creative and proactive person with the ability to work independently;
  • A goal-oriented person who can drive a program and achieve targets;
  • A ‘people person’ who can work closely and synergistically link suppliers to our customers and build and maintain those relationships;
  • Experience dealing and/or liaising with Taiwanese and Chinese manufacturers of embedded computing equipment and medical grade technological products is highly desirable;
  • Experience in usage of medical grade equipment for medical use is highly desirable.

Supplier Procurement & Distribution Management (Primary):
  • Liaise, negotiate, build and maintain strong relationships with our Taiwanese & Chinese manufacturers and suppliers;
  • Determining, planning, implementing and monitoring purchasing, storage, distribution strategies, policies and inventory service level to reduce delivery time for critical projects and reduce inventory holding costs;
  • Negotiating contracts with overseas suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements;
  • Operating recording systems to track all movements of supplies and finished goods, and ensuring re-ordering and re-stocking at optimal times;
  • Liaising with other departments and customers concerning requirements for outward goods and associated forwarding transportation;
  • Overseeing the recording of purchase, storage and distribution transactions; and
  • Directing staff activities and monitoring the effectiveness of the internal purchase process.
Customer Management (Secondary with Sales Team):
  • Visiting existing and prospective customers with the sales team throughout Australia to establish and act on opportunities and to promote existing and future products and services;
  • Assessing customers' needs and explaining the goods and services which Micromax can supply to meet their needs;
  • Support the sales team to Negotiate with suppliers and quote prices and credit terms, and complete tenders and contracts in line with supplier terms; and
  • Liaise with customers about the delivery of goods and the provision of services.
General:
  • Acquiring and updating knowledge of Micromax’s and competitors' goods and services, and market conditions.
