About The Role including Job duties and Responsibilities:Orchard Café is looking for a full time cook. We are looking forward to welcoming hospitality professionals on board that are motivated to bring knowledge, passion and experience to this venue and that are excited to learn and grow in this business.
We are looking for a Cook who can tick the following boxes.- Preparing, seasoning, and cooking a variety of dishes according to the Orchard Café’s menu and quality standards.
- Managing stock levels by ordering and receiving fresh ingredients and supplies as needed.
- Checking ingredients and finished dishes to ensure freshness, taste, and presentation meet café expectations.
- Adjusting and monitoring cooking temperatures for ovens, grills, and other kitchen appliances to ensure optimal cooking results.
- Using kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, and stoves efficiently to prepare meals in a timely manner.
- Portioning and plating meals attractively before serving to maintain consistency in presentation.
- Properly storing ingredients and cooked food to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.
- Assisting in training and guiding junior kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety practices.
- Following food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure a clean and compliant kitchen environment.

Qualifications and Experience: Minimum Cert IV in commercial cookery and overall Diploma level qualification preferably in hospitality industry
At least ‘One Year’ Experience in a similar role and similar environmentStrong communications skills, Ability to work unsupervised, Strong knowledge of cooking procedures and ingredients.
Salary: Salary will be between $70000-$75000 per year plus superannuation.
