The IT team plays a crucial role in maintaining a robust and secure network, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity across all systems, and supporting critical healthcare technologies, including Clinical Management Systems, Access Control Systems, Nurse Call Systems, and CCTV monitoring.
James Milson Village is seeking a highly skilled Network and System Engineer to join the IT team at James Milson Village. This role is crucial in maintaining and enhancing the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless network operations, and providing top-tier technical support to both staff and residents.The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud and on-premises IT systems while ensuring the security and integrity of all digital assets.
The Network and System Engineer will work closely with the ICT Manager to optimize infrastructure, troubleshoot complex network and system issues, and deploy innovative solutions to improve efficiency. This role requires a proactive approach, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based IT infrastructure, including G-Suite, AWS, and Microsoft Office 365.
- Administer Windows Servers, Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and DFS-R for secure access management.
- Provide both local and remote IT support to staff and residents, troubleshooting network, operating system, and application issues.
- Manage and enhance network security by reviewing and modifying Access Control Lists (ACLs) and performing system upgrades.
- Implement, support, and maintain core IT infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, firewalls, and cloud services.
- Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot video conferencing solutions, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom Meetings, and Zoom Rooms.
- Perform network operating system upgrades on routers, switches, FortiGate firewalls, Wi-Fi controllers, and telephony devices.
- Provide support for Clinical Management Systems (PCS & eCase), Nurse Call Systems, Access Control Systems, and Visitor Management Systems.
- Monitor network traffic, performance, and security to identify potential threats and optimize network functionality.
- Maintain an inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and network devices.
- Assess and recommend improvements to network operations and integrated hardware, software, communications and operating systems
- Provide input on IT policies, compliance, risk management, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field with at least one-year relevant experience
- Extensive experience in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and network security management.
- Strong knowledge of network design, switching, routing, and firewalls.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, G-Suite, OKTA, Trend Micro).
- Demonstrated experience in IT infrastructure support within an aged care or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with CCTV, Nurse Call Systems, Access Control Systems, and WordPress-based website management is advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze, diagnose, and resolve network and system issues effectively.
- Relevant IT certifications (CCNA, Microsoft, AWS, or equivalent).
- Experience working in the aged care or healthcare industry.
- Experience with Audio-Visual and Multimedia technologies.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
