Welcome to the Kinglake Pub, the heart of the Kinglake Ranges! Our country pub is a vibrant social hub where locals and visitors come together to enjoy great food, good company, and a relaxed dining experience. We’re open for lunch, dinner, and accommodation seven days a week, offering classic pub meals, weekly chef specials, and a great atmosphere for families, couples, and friends to enjoy.

With an indoor kids’ play area, outdoor seating, and a beautiful beer garden, we provide a warm and welcoming space for all.

Now, we’re looking for a talented Chef to join our kitchen team and help us deliver high-quality food while maintaining our friendly and professional work culture.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Head Chef to coordinate and manage kitchen operations.
  • Prepare and serve high-quality, great-tasting food in line with our standards.
  • Ensure food safety, hygiene, and compliance with HACCP guidelines.
  • Assist in menu development and the creation of weekly Chef Specials.
  • Oversee food storage, stock control, and minimize waste and spoilage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and ensure high standards of food presentation.
  • Support and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
  • Deputize for the Head Chef in their absence and liaise with floor staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Assist in monitoring food costs, ordering supplies, and ensuring portion control.
  • Complete daily reports, maintain cleaning schedules, and ensure venue health and safety compliance.

What We’re Looking For:

-Experience in a high-volume pub/bistro kitchen.
  • A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a motivated work ethic.
  • Ability to meet food quality and safety standards consistently.
  • Understanding of food handling best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Relevant qualifications – Cert IV in Commercial Cookery or higher.
-Minimum 1-2 Years Experience as a Chef
