Bay Window Restaurant is looking for people with experience in the industry to take on the role of Restaurant manager
Bay Window is a popular venue with a loyal regular clientele located inside Randwick Golf Club. In a stunning location with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean the restaurant focuses on delivering high quality contemporary Australian cuisine with a creative input.
We provide excellent customer service in a relaxed yet professional atmosphere.
We are looking for a well-experienced hands on front of house manager with a genuine interest in the hospitality industry and who is willing to commit for a long term employment.
The role requires organising, supervising and controlling the day to day floor operations, leading the team with example to the highest possible standards.
Main tasks:
- Overseeing daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Working with the Head Chef/Owner of the restaurant to plan and give feedback on new menu items and weekly specials, providing suggestions and possible changes to dishes when appropriate.
- Organising and planning large functions (weddings, wakes, birthday parties etc.) to ensure the smooth running of these events.
- Detailed reporting and cash and stock reconciliation for each shift.
- Monitor and control cleaning and complying with sanitation and WHS standards.
- Ensure appearance of restaurant is clean and meets owner’s standards of presentation.
- Rostering shifts for staff to ensure efficient use of resources to enable expenditure budgets are met.
- Ensure compliance with Australia Food Safety Standard across the venue and all staff.
Essential requirements:
- Full time position. Hours are negotiable but must be able to work weekends and public holidays.
- Qualification at the Diploma level or higher
- 3 years of relevant work experience
- Experience organizing functions and events.
- Motivated, enthusiastic and team focused.
- Should be able to provide exceptional customer service.
- Good knowledge of contemporary Australian cuisine.
- Must be flexible, have a positive can-do attitude and be willing to commit.
- Must have knowledge on all the areas of front of house service.
- Fluency in English and excellent communications skills.
- Excellent personal presentation.
