Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality Indian dishes, maintaining kitchen standards, and contributing to a consistent and memorable dining experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Indian dishes including curries, tandoori items, and rice-based meals
  • Ensure consistent taste, quality, and presentation of all menu items
  • Plan and organise food preparation in line with service requirements
  • Monitor food stock levels and assist in ordering and inventory control
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen in compliance with hygiene standards
  • Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to minimise food wastage
  • Assist in menu planning and development of new dishes reflecting traditional and modern Indian cuisine
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of food in accordance with food safety regulations
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours
  • Inspect food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality standards are met.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably in Indian cuisine
  • Knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and traditional recipes
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills.
