Are you enthusiastic about artisan chocolate and excellent customer service? We're looking for a proactive and supportive Assistant Store Manager to help lead one of our stores in Melbourne.

Join our passionate team at Xocolatl, where we blend creativity, customer experience, and artisan chocolate in our boutique cafés in Kew and Canterbury, as well as our chocolate manufacturing facility. Job Description: As the Assistant Store Manager, you will work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of our Canterbury location. Your role will be hands-on, supporting staff, maintaining product standards, and creating a warm, efficient environment for customers and team members alike. Key Responsibilities:

Team Support: Assist in supervising staff and daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service and team collaboration.
Roster Support: Help manage team schedules and ensure appropriate coverage across shifts.
Stock Coordination: Assist with stock orders, inventory tracking, and supplier communication.
Customer Experience: Maintain the high standards of service Xocolatl is known for.
Quality Standards: Support quality control procedures and compliance with food safety regulations.
Training & Onboarding: Help train new and existing staff to perform at their best.
Sales & Merchandising: Support merchandising efforts to boost sales and product presentation.

Administrative Assistance: Help with banking, daily reports, and other store documentation as needed.

Qualification and Experience:

Previous experience in a retail or café supervisory role.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Basic understanding of stock and inventory processes.
Knowledge of food safety practices.
Barista experience is highly desirable.
Passion for customer service and artisan chocolate.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is essential.
