Management Accountant
The Client:
Himalayan Business Group is a professional services company with several offices across Australia and overseas. They are now looking for a seasoned Management Accountant to join their team in Brisbane.
The Role:
They are looking for a detail-oriented Management Accountant to oversee their company’s financial operations. The Management Accountant’s responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing cost analyses, preparing budget reports, and assisting with financial planning.
The ideal candidate is well-versed in accounting principles, has excellent analytical skills, and experience with budget control. Ultimately, the role of the Management Accountant is to ensure our financial management is accurate and effective.
This is for a full time role with an annual salary between $75,000 to $90,000 plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities:
Preparation and reporting of monthly management results
Analyse budget performance and identify opportunities for efficiencies and cost reductions
Management of insurance and foreign resident artist withholding requirements and reporting
Creation of dashboards to monitor the business’ performance
Monitor and report on cash flow
Develop and implement accounting systems, policies and procedures
Document all financial transactions and ensure the accuracy, safety and compliance of record-keepings at all time
Preparation of accounts, tax returns, Business Activity Statements, FBT, and other compliance matters
Planning, preparation and execution of financial statements with appropriate note disclosures
Prepare information for financial statements and tax returns
Monitor cash flow, operating costs, and financial risks
Advise management on cost control and improvement initiatives
Liaising with the ATO and other government departments
Prepare reports and/or presentation to director and management by collecting, analysing, summarizing accounting information and trends and reviewing current business and financial conditions
Performing month end close, processing relevant journals, balance sheet, intercompany processing, revenue analysis and statutory accounts production.
Assist management with relevant ASIC reports & statutory tax related compliances
Contribute towards process improvement and implementation and ensure client confidentiality and privacy
The Requirements:
At least a Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/economics from an accredited university.
Must have at least 2 years of relevant finance and accounting experience within a commercial accountant capacity
Must have at least 2 years accounting experience in a corporate setting
Must have at least 2 years commercial experience in Quickbook Accounting or XERO software
Must have at least 2 years commercial experience with company income tax and GST
Demonstrated commercial acumen to understand the dynamics of a complex evolving industry
Demonstrated experience in complex, integrated, computerised accounting systems;Demonstrated ability to methodically analyse sets of data
Detail oriented, ability to multitask, work independently and prioritise tasks
Ability to organise, plan and manage, together with the capacity to prioritise for self and coordinate input from others to deliver timely results
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
