About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Compliance Lead to support the ongoing development of Volt’s compliance framework in Australia. In this role, you will work closely with the SVP of Compliance & Risk, ensuring full alignment with local regulatory requirements and contributing to the continued build-out of Volt’s compliance function in the Australian market.
You will play a key role in maintaining and strengthening Volt’s AML/CTF framework in accordance with the AML/CTF Act and AML/CTF Rules, acting as the primary point of contact for AUSTRAC and supporting reporting obligations, audits, and regulatory engagement.This is a high-impact position with significant influence on Volt’s Australian compliance strategy and operations.
What the role involves- Supporting Volt’s SVP Compliance & Risk in ensuring full compliance with all local AML/CTF obligations under the AML/CTF Act and AML/CTF Rules
- Ensuring all required AML/CTF reports (e.g. suspicious matter reports, threshold transaction reports) are submitted accurately and on time
- Creating, implementing, and maintaining local AML/CTF and compliance policies and procedures
- Acting as the principal contact for AUSTRAC, including submitting regulatory reports, liaising during audits, and responding to regulatory queries
- Contributing to Volt’s global compliance programme by preparing regular reports for the Board and senior management
- Delivering AML/CTF compliance training to local staff
- Significantly influencing and shaping Volt’s Australian compliance build-out
Requirements
About you- You have current or recent AML/CTF experience within the payments and/or fintech sector
- You demonstrate strong knowledge of AML/CTF regulatory requirements and reporting obligations
- You are able to work independently and take ownership of key compliance areas
- You show a strong sense of responsibility and accountability
- You are adaptable and able to operate effectively in a fast-changing environment
- You are comfortable working in a start-up structure with evolving processes and priorities
- You have broader regulatory compliance experience (e.g. data protection, payments regulation)
- You have experience interacting directly with regulators
- You have experience contributing to Board and senior management reporting
- An educational degree in a relevant field or an ICA qualification would be an additional plus.
- Selected candidates will be invited for an initial interview with our Senior Talent Acquisition Lead. The video meeting will take about 45 minutes.
- Then it’s time for a second interview with our SVP of Compliance & Risk that will last about 1 hour.
- Our SVP Australia & New Zealand would also like to meet you during the recruitment process.
- Finally, you will meet with our CEO and co-founder for a Final Interview.
- If successful, you will be given a job offer proposal.
