Infrastructure Delivery Technician Trainee - Data Centers , Infrastructure Delivery
This is an entry level position and a unique opportunity to learn and work in some of the most innovative and fast paced data-centers in the world.
The Infrastructure Delivery team is responsible for the scaling and physical deployment of new data-center infrastructure. As part of that team, an Installation Technician trainee will be primarily tasked with "Installing Cabling" and "New racks" within the data-centers.The ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly motivated individual with a willingness to learn and up skill. The candidate must be able to perform physically repetitive tasks and adhere to standard processes and best practices. Candidates will be learning and working in a team environment and must be able to communicate and promote cross-team functionality.
This position has a large physical component and will require applicants to be carrying out physical work for large portions of the day like -- Moving and lifting computer equipment;
- Able to work from a ladder and EWP (elevated working platform);
- Regularly lift 7kg's and lifting up to 18kg;
- Wear PPE as required;
- Use hand and power tools;
This is a 12 month trainee position with a possible opportunity to convert to permanent after the program.
Key job responsibilities- Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data-center;
- Installation and testing of copper and Fiber Optic cabling from ladders and MEWP's;
- Basic build and troubleshooting of network devices;
- Creating/attaching labels and barcodes;
- Managing inventory of related materials;
- Adhering to defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures;
- Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions;
- Installing large quantities of SFP's, Batteries and other equipment into computer racks;
- Have a current driving license and transportation to commute to different locations within the Sydney region;
About the team
The Infrastructure Delivery team consists of a diverse range of builders from around the globe, ranging from trade backgrounds to networking professionals working together to deliver the necessary physical network infrastructure for cloud computing.- High school or equivalent diploma
- Are 18 years of age or older- Knowledge of computer hardware components and operating systems
