Join a leading building materials manufacturer known for its commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency. With a strong reputation in the industry. We're seeking a skilled Production/Forklift Operator to join the team. If you're an experienced Operator from a fast-paced manufacturing environment with strong manual handling skills and attention to detail and quality, this could be the perfect role for you!
What you'll do
You will be working a rotating Day/Night shift roster comprising of 12-hour shifts. You will carry out duties such as -- Forklift Operation: Safely operate 8T Linde forklifts to handle building material packs up to 3T.
- Manual Handling & Sorting: Physically flip and building material to recover quality stock.
- Paperwork & Reporting: Accurately complete documentation and update tracking records.
- Teamwork & Communication: Work closely with supervisors and QA teams to maintain quality standards.
- Housekeeping & Organisation: Maintain a clean, organised product area for safety and efficiency.
What you'll need
Aside from the below points, you will have familiarity of a production/manufacturing environment. You will have a keen eye for detail, have worked within a continuous improvement framework and passionate to adhere to quality, safety and performance standards.A willingness to move across different departments and onto different shift patterns is highly desirable.
- Forklift Licence and experience (Mandatory) - Skill and competency in operating forklifts up to 8T in a production environment.
- Mature - able to work autonomously when needed and ensure work is completed. Be keen to progress and grow skill set.
- Physically Fit & Capable - This role involves lifting, flipping, and sorting building materials such as plasterboard sheets and insulation.
- Attention to Detail - Must identify/avoid and record defects, care for product is key.
- Safety-Conscious attitude - Understanding of site safety adherence, and PPE requirements.
- Team Player - Must communicate effectively with all levels of staff and ensure general housekeeping standards.
- As a suitable candidate you will also be able to pass Drug & Alcohol screening and workplace fitness assessments.
