Telecommunication Network Planner

Salary: $75,000 plus 11.5% superannuation

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Telecommunication Network Planner to join their team on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate will work closely with the project team to ensure efficient network performance and customer access to the available networks.

As a Telecommunication Network Planner, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and resolving network issues, ensuring that clients receive uninterrupted and efficient service.

• Install, maintain, and manage telecommunications networks, ensuring systems are running efficiently.
• Plan and coordinate customer access to the NBN and Telstra network infrastructure through Optical Fibre and copper intercepts.
• Install, maintain, repair, and diagnose malfunctions in microwave, telemetry, multiplexing, satellite, and other radio and electromagnetic wave communication systems.
• Ensuring that network and telecommunication systems are installed in compliance with government policies and procedures.
• Monitor network performance and diagnose issues to ensure the proper functioning of telecommunication networks.
• Design and document network layouts and technical specifications for telecommunications projects.
• Coordinate with field technicians to schedule and oversee the installation and configuration of network infrastructure.
• Prepare and submit reports on network performance, including data on system outages, maintenance requirements, and upgrades.
• Conduct site surveys to assess the feasibility of installing new telecommunications infrastructure.
• Develop and implement strategies for network optimization, ensuring scalability, security, and future-proofing of telecommunications systems.

• Diploma in Telecommunications Technology or a related field.
• At least one year of relevant experience in telecommunications network planning or a similar role.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience and/or relevant vendor certification may substitute for formal qualifications.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure, including Optical Fibre, microwave, satellite, and radio communication systems.
• Familiarity with NBN, Telstra networks, and relevant Australian telecommunications standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
