About the RoleEverclear Glass & Glazing Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and motivated Sheetmetal Trades Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in fabricating, assembling, and installing high-quality sheet metal products that meet our stringent quality standards.
This role involves working closely with blueprints, drawings, and specifications to deliver precision-engineered components and products.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and Preparation
Study and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
Select appropriate metal stock, such as stainless steel, galvanized iron, mild steel, aluminum, and copper.
Verify sizes, gauges, and dimensions of metal stock against specifications.
FabricationMark out metal stock using reference points and lines with templates, gauges, and measuring instruments.
Cut metal stock along guidelines using hand and power tools, including shears, guillotines, and drills.
Shape and form cut metal into products using folding machines, rollers, presses, and hammers.
AssemblyFit and assemble components into final products using welding, riveting, soldering, brazing, and other joining methods.
Finish products by polishing, filing, sanding, and cleaning to meet design and quality requirements.
Repairs and SpecializationRepair damaged sheet metal products and components when necessary.
Specialize in fabrication, on-site assembly, and installation of sheet metal products.
Produce specialized components such as decorative copperwork or aircraft sheet metal parts requiring advanced skills.
Quality ControlEnsure all completed products meet design specifications and quality standards.
Maintain a high level of precision and attention to detail throughout all stages of production.
Requirements: Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Certificate III in engineering Fabrication Trade (Sheetmetal working).Minimum 1 year of proven experience as a Sheetmetal Trades Worker, with expertise in fabrication and assembly.
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
Skilled in using hand and power tools for cutting, shaping, and forming metal.
Familiarity with welding, riveting, soldering, and other joining techniques.
Knowledge of metal types, gauges, and material properties.
Skills and AttributesStrong technical and mathematical aptitude for advanced calculations and measurements.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to precise tolerances.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues.
