About the Position:

The Chef position at the Prince Albert Hotel is a full-time role for a skilled and passionate individual to lead the kitchen in delivering high-quality, modern Australian cuisine. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, community-focused venue with a rich history, ensuring guests enjoy memorable dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities: Plan menus, estimate food and labor costs, and order food supplies.

Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
Discuss food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen and waiting staff.
Demonstrate techniques and advise on cooking procedures.
Prepare and cook food to meet the hotel’s high standards.
Explain and enforce hygiene regulations.
Select and train staff as needed.

Freeze and preserve foods when required.

Requirements: Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications: Diploma of Hospitality Management.

Required Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar role.

Required Skills: Strong culinary expertise, leadership and training abilities, excellent organizational skills, knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
