Job Description
In this role you will be the most senior finance person in Australia. Leading a team of 3 your responsibilities will include:
Review of Month End Reconciliations & Reporting:
- Prepare and distribute monthly and year-end finance reports for expenditure analysis and updates to the CEO.
- Oversee data upload and reconciliation between the local finance system (Microsoft Dynamics Navision) and Head Office consolidation system (HFM).
- Review monthly financial indicators and balance sheets, ensuring reconciliations are accurate, with variances addressed.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Consolidate monthly budget analysis and prepare budget revision proposals for review by the Finance Director.
- Ensure alignment of sales and stock forecasts with budgeting systems, and oversee data entry into the Head Office system.
- Distribute budget reports to HODs confirming discussions and approvals.
Coordination of Year End Audit:
- Act as the main point of contact for external auditors, ensuring timely submission of required documentation.
- Lead the internal and external audit processes.
- Facilitate efficient audits by coordinating the delivery of accurate and complete audit materials.
Strategic Plan:
- Oversee preparation of strategic assumptions, including staff numbers, sales forecasts, and budgeted expenditures.
- Prepare and submit 3-year cash flow projections to Head Office, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Participate in review meetings to validate assumptions and ensure accurate data entry into the local and Head Office systems.
Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax obligations, including preparation and review of yearly FBT returns.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual corporate income tax return and Research & Development Incentive disclosures.
- Prepare and review annual Transfer Pricing Adjustments with quarterly assessments for accurate tax reporting.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in finance management, ideally within a global organisation, and will be comfortable working across both operational and strategic finance functions. They will possess excellent technical and interpersonal skills, capable of driving business performance while effectively managing a team.You will have the ability to gain valuable insights from data and effectively provide this information to the business to help make informed commercial decisions.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability in staff management.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, including accounts payable/receivable.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Expertise in forecasting, financial reporting, and group reporting.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and multitask with a proactive approach.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong team player with the ability to work as part of a broader team.
- Solutions-focused with proven problem-solving capabilities.
- Advanced Excel skills.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in finance, including consulting and industry.
- Significant experience managing finance teams.
- Proven ability to finance business partner, collaborating with stakeholders across finance and non-finance areas to drive success.
- Experience in the FMCG, Pharmaceutical or a similarly regulated industry.
- Experience working in a global organisation with group reporting requirements.
