Chef

VeiraMal Consulting is seeking an experienced chef to join our clients' restaurant in Keilor. Our client, Slices Keilor is looking for an enthusiastic individual who can work well in a team, with strong communication skills.

The responsibilities will include:

• Preparing food and ensuring high presentation quality;
• Planning menus and specials for the restaurant;
• Estimating food costs and ordering supplies as required;
• Advising kitchen staff on cooking techniques and procedures;
• Monitoring costs in regards to waste minimization and stock control;
• Carrying out quality checks while ensuring hygiene standards are maintained;
• Working with the management to recruit and train new kitchen staff if required.

Skills required:

• Previous experience in a similar role;
• Have a passion for great food and presentation;
• Ability to prioritize, set goals, and a determination to achieve them;
• Experience in kitchen operations and staff training;
• Experience with menu creation and costings;
• Experience in stock control and wastage minimization.

Remuneration:

$70,000 - $80,000 + superannuation
