Company Details:Our client, The Trustee for Fatima Group Family Trust t/a Bar B Q Lounge, is a busy Pakistani and Indian restaurant located in the vibrant dining precinct of Brunswick, VIC. The restaurant is known for delivering authentic, flavourful dishes with a focus on traditional recipes and a superior customer experience.
The team takes great pride in consistency, quality, and hospitality excellence, offering a welcoming environment to both staff and customers.
The client is looking for an experienced Chef with the passion and ability to drive the kitchen, create amazing food offerings and provide support to the team. The Chef will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the customer’s satisfaction.
To be successful in this position, you will need to have relevant work experience and trade qualifications, you must have a genuine interest in the hospitality industry. The successful applicant must comply with all WHS, Food Safety and HACCP requirements.
Minimum Requirements: Certificate IV in commercial Cookery or Diploma in Hospitality Management with at least 1 – 2 years’ experience
Key Responsibilities: Overall management of kitchen production to achieve consistency and deliver
Exceptional products and servicePlanning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
Maintaining high level kitchen standards and quality
Assisting in the efficient running of kitchen operations
Delivering outstanding food in taste and presentation
Discussing food preparation issues with manager/ owner and kitchen staff
Ensuring all kitchen staff understood expectations and parameters of kitchen goals and daily kitchen work
Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
Preparing and cooking Indian and Pakistani food
Ensuring all food operations are compliant with relevant regulations
Participating in the cost controlling and waste management of food
Maintaining updated knowledge of local competition and restaurant industry trends
Skills and Personal Attributes: A demonstrated track record in creating innovative menus at the highest level
In depth knowledge of Indian and Pakistan Cuisine and current market trendsProficient in both the Curry and Tandoor areas of the kitchen
Exceptional shift management capabilities
High standard of personal grooming and presentation
Sound knowledge of kitchen management including menu planning and costing
Good working knowledge of WHS standards
Highly organized with the ability to supervise and support the team in kitchen operations
