The Client

Paradise Pizzeria Ristorante in Paradise, South Australia is a reputable restaurant that offers variety of food options. They are currently looking for an experienced Chef to join their team.

The Role

This is for a full-time role with an annual salary between $73,500- $80,000, depending on experience plus superannuation.

• Plan and design daily and seasonal menus, focusing on Italian cuisine with specialties in pizza, pasta, and seafood, in consultation with the Head Chef and management.
• Incorporate customer preferences and seasonal availability of ingredients.
• Prepare and cook a variety of Italian dishes, including pasta, risotto, seafood, and traditional Italian appetizers.
• Ensure that all dishes meet the restaurant’s standards of flavour, quality, and presentation.
• Oversee grilling, baking, frying, and other cooking techniques as required by menu items.
• Lead and supervise kitchen staff in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food.
• Provide on-the-job training and guidance to junior chefs and kitchen hands, demonstrating cooking techniques and ensuring they follow recipes and procedures accurately.
• Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished dishes at all stages, ensuring consistency and compliance with the restaurant’s standards.
• Ensure all kitchen operations comply with health and safety regulations, particularly food hygiene and cleanliness.
• Oversee the proper storage and preservation of food to minimize waste and spoilage.
• Engage with the front-of-house staff to receive customer feedback and adjust dishes where necessary.
• Master the use of pizza ovens and ensure pizzas are cooked to perfection, paying attention to texture, flavour, and appearance.

• At least a Certificate IV qualifications in commercial cookery or relevant.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Chef in a professional kitchen
• At least 3 years of experience in preparing and cooking pastas and pizzas
• At least 3 years’ experience in preparing pizza dough from scratch
• Must be able to work with all type of meats i.e., beef, seafood etc
• Must know how to prepare meals to dietary requirements
• Experience in kitchen operations and in managing a team
