Join our family run busienss at Izgrev Deli located in Brighton Le-sands as we seek a talented pastry cook for a full time position paid 74 to 80k plus super. As a valued member of our staff, you will contribute to creating an exceptional creative pastries of deserts, cakes, biscuits and Sweets

As the Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for planning and organising the preparation of pastry food and deserts.

This is a hand-on position. To be successful in this role you will:

  • Preparing pastries, buns, cakes, biscuits, and other baked goods.
  • Stock checking and ordering ingredients.
  • Weighing and measuring ingredients.
  • Decorating pastries and desserts using various sauces, toppings, and decorations.
  • Contributing to the creation of the menu.
  • Keeping accurate records related to the business.
  • Recruiting, hiring, and training assistants.
  • Operating various kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, scales, and dough cutters.
  • Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing.
  • Design and Prepare pastry and Bake different flavours pastries, cakes, deserts
  • Glazing, Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods
  • Customising Pastry designs on location at our store’s to suit customer needs.
  • Preparing pastry fillings and cooking chocolate, salted sauces, creams, syrups etc.
  • Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine cooking times when baking of pastry, cakes, buns and breads.
  • Mix icing, cream, glaze and other toppings by reading recipes, scaling and measuring ingredients and operating mixer.
  • Glazing pastry, buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing for custom orders
  • Replenished and rotated food items, following correct food cooling and storage procedures.
  • Handling employee’s task and organize presentations at shops.
  • Ordering food supplies
  • A proven ability to implement work place procedures
  • Overseeing stock levels
  • Check the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
  • Handle freezing and preserving foods
Skill Requirement:
The successful candidate would also need to possess at least a certificate III with atleast 2 years full time industry experience. Alternatively at least 3 years of closely related work experience will substitute for formal qualifications.
