TEG Life Like Touring is looking for a Company Stage Manager to be responsible for the smooth running of the rehearsal process and manage the day-to-day operations of the upcoming Global Premiere Australian Tour of Gabby’s Dollhouse Live!.
Contract Position: Weekly Fee + Per Diems (when applicable), all accommodation and travel provided (when away from home base).
All candidates must be Melbourne-based and available for all rehearsal and national tour dates from 30th January 2025 up to/around 29th April 2025.

The Role
The Employee shall perform all services customarily rendered by the Company Stage Manager of a first-class musical stage play (of the same quality and calibre as a Broadway/West End musical). Without limitation, the following employee duties shall include:
- Attendance at rehearsals and rehearsal management.
- Cast management across the tour.
- Develop a relationship and perform appropriate OJT between the CSM/ASM to allow for coverage of roles, mutual assistance for company administrative work, and appropriate role support.
- Always maintain TEG standards as well as Show Quality Standards.
- Ensuring communication occurs between the Producer and the touring company regarding company travel and accommodation.
- Managing the rehearsal schedule with the creative team and creating weekly/daily call sheets if required.
- Completion of Rehearsal Reports and Tour Show Reports as supplied by TEG Life Like Touring and signing off on all elements scheduled, including induction of local crew into the show and Health and Safety protocol.
- Calling the show and cueing all departments in technical rehearsal/performance with relevant cues.
- Working with the Production Manager to actively manage all aspects of the production, including cast and crew backstage during performance; actively overseeing and participating in set and prop movements; puppetry; care for the cast and costumes during performances.
- Company Management, including coordination of local catering where required.
- Marking up the script with cues for all departments relevant to the production and ensuring local crew receive accurate cue sheets.
- Managing the induction of cast into each venue and risk management.
- Actively participate in all matters and activities relating to Health and Safety, including compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
- Ensuring bump-in, cast scheduling, and bump-out schedules run to time or are adjusted to maximise efficiency and minimise additional expenditure.
- Liaise with Cast and Crew regarding repair or maintenance of every show-related asset as needed, and delegate repair or maintenance to the appropriate department.
- Act as the primary liaison with Venue Management to ensure seamless delivery of each performance.
- Surveying any performance or Meet & Greet venue with adequate time to then walk through with cast, making any required adjustments to the venue.
- Liaise with the Cast/Crew in attendance at any performance regarding any relevant issues/incidents/accidents or near-misses arising before, during, or after the performance, and ensure that these and any technical, client, or other issues are reported on the relevant documentation.
- Fill in Incident/Accident Report forms for the cast and crew as necessary and return them to TEG Life Like Touring.
- Manage a Production Folder that includes: the prompt copy of the script, TEG Life Like Touring emergency protocol, show reports, confidential copies of Cast medical details and other personal information, incident/accident/near miss forms, risk assessment and management forms, daily sign-in sheets, and report on all daily, weekly, or as needed to the relevant parties.
- Personally report to TEG Life Like Touring any issues that come to the attention of Stage Management that need further input.
- Reasonable other duties as directed.

Requirements
Required Skills:
- Extensive Stage Management and/or Company Management experience, particularly in musical theatre and family entertainment.
- Exhibit outstanding organisation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to work with creative and technical personnel and performers.
- Ability to work under pressure, using tact, diplomacy, and flexibility.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of "performance" etiquette, including a comprehensive knowledge of theatre traditions, protocol, and terminology.
- Possess a comprehensive general knowledge of workplace safety procedures and protocols.
- Highly skilled in the calling of live performance.
- Experience with QLab playback software.
- Sound financial management skills, with the ability to oversee budgets, keep appropriate records, and reconcile accounts.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold a license to operate a motor vehicle. Candidates for this role must ensure that they are entitled to legally work in Australia, and proof of citizenship or eligibility may be requested. Candidates must currently hold, or successfully submit to, a Working With Children check.
