Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $70,000 – $75,000 per year + Super as per government
Work Location: On-site (in person)
Shift: 38 Hours per Week
Measure, clean, chop, blend, season, heat, and cool food as required
Prepare and cook Australian café-style breakfast and brunch dishes
Monitor cooking processes to ensure proper cooking time, temperature, and presentation
Plan and estimate food and ingredient requirements
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all kitchen areas
Store and manage raw materials and ingredients in temperature-controlled conditions
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and utensils
Monitor and maintain inventory of food supplies and equipment
Prepare ingredients through appropriate cutting, marinating, and seasoning methods
Adjust recipes to accommodate special dietary needs (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free)
Assist in the development of new recipes and seasonal menu items
Supervise and collaborate with kitchen staff during food preparation and cooking
Assist with training junior kitchen staff and kitchen hands
Follow occupational health and safety guidelines and food handling regulations
Strong understanding of Australian café cuisine
Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
