Role Overview:
The Residential Care Officer is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for assessing clients' needs, developing, planning, and implementing tailored support programs that empower participants in their daily lives. The position requires close collaboration with participants, their families/advocates, and allied health professionals to ensure holistic and effective support.
This role plays a key part in fostering client independence, well-being, and social inclusion.
Key Responsibilities- Client Needs Assessment & Support Planning
Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to understand clients’ goals, needs, and preferences.
Develop, plan, and implement individualized support programs.Collaborate with families, allied health professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure a holistic care approach.
Educate staff to implement and follow client support plans.
- Health and Wellbeing Management
Monitor clients’ physical and mental health, ensuring timely interventions and referrals.
- Monitoring & Progress Reporting
Provide detailed reports and updates to the Director, Service Delivery Manager, and other stakeholders.
- Referral and Liaison
Establish relationships with community groups, government agencies, and private businesses to promote resource access.
- Community Engagement & Program Coordination
Advocate for clients’ rights, ensuring they are aware of their entitlements.
- Support for Families and Carers
Assist in creating supportive environments within group housing and adult service units.
- Offender Supervision
Supervise individuals on probation or parole to ensure compliance and provide reintegration support.
(Note: Offender supervision may require Authorised Practice Officer approval, which Orbit Care Services will guide you through.)

Ensure compliance with organizational policies and relevant guidelines.
Requirements: Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Diploma in Community Services or a related field.At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, working with individuals with disabilities or in community services.
Strong understanding of person-centered care principles.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with participants, families, and professionals.
High level of organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of NDIS Code of Conduct and relevant disability legislation is desirable.
