Life Support Systems/Maintenance Technician

We have a unique and exciting opportunity to join our Maintenance Team at Sydney’s top visitor attractions as a Life Support Systems (LSS) Technician/general site Maintenance Officer.
About the role
Working with the Head of Technical Services and a small team of in house technicians, you’ll be supporting Sydney’s iconic attractions; SEA LIFE, WILD LIFE, Madame Tussauds & Sydney Tower Eye! Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and repairing back of house LSS equipment
- General plumbing repairs to exhibits and General site plumbing
- Fault finding and reporting mechanical and plumbing malfunctions to third party for action.
- Replacing and maintaining pumps and animal life support systems
- Assisting the operations and curatorial teams with the day-to-day maintenance and implementation of ongoing programs
- Performing repair, general and preventative maintenance work of facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment including, Joinery, gyprock repair, basic plumbing, HVAC and masonry.
- Repairing and treating structures such as doors, locks, showers, floors, sinks, walls, and carpets.
- Assisting, facilitating, and supervising external contractors where required.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:- LLS Experience in regard to Animal Exhibits
- Plumbing experience
- Demonstrated reliability and diligence.
- Assisting with the maintenance and organisation of a safe and functional mechanical workshop.
- Competent with the use of office computer software (Microsoft Office suite etc).
- Intermediate knowledge of networking hardware infrastructure and the ability to work with specialists (both in person and through remote communication) to resolve networking issues.
This is a fast paced, guest facing environment – no two days are the same - so the ability to think on your feet, problem solve and use your initiative will be key in this role.
