Position Overview:
NSW Building and Civil is looking for a full-time Civil Engineer to join their team in Bankstown NSW 2200. This is a great opportunity where hard work will be rewarded.
Duties:
- Designing, planning, organizing and overseeing construction projects.
- Determining construction methods, materials and quality standards, and drafting and interpreting specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures
- organising and directing site labour and the delivery of construction materials, plant and equipment, and establishing detailed programs for the coordination of site activities
- Read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
- Understand good practices in designing & detailing, the various types of waterproofing systems, their limitations and applications.
- Providing data for designing activities through conducting field surveys & field studies.
- Estimating budget for projects according to technical specifications & providing reports on estimated cost, materials, tools, and labour.
- Monitoring activities on site regularly to obtain performance of construction materials and labour, in order to design strategies and methods to optimize these resources
- engineering problems like water leakage and recommend technical solutions, including scope of work, material, and construction process.
- Conducting relevant tests on membranes to determine compliance with standards.
- Participation in technical meetings with employers and subcontractors
- Organizing and directing the completion of projects
- Effective communication and building positive relationships with clients, project team and management.
- Monitor and optimize safety procedures and ensure regulatory compliance with the overall design and regulations and best engineering practice in projects monitoring project progress and inspecting construction site.
- Problem solving and innovation as an individual and as part of a team.
To ensure that you are successful in this role you will possess/demonstrate:
- Degree qualified in Engineering
- Minimum 3 years’ of experience required in a similar role.
- General Building Construction Knowledge
- Superb knowledge of all governing civil engineering standards, requirements, and guidelines.
- Technical proficiencies include Microsoft Office Suite, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD.
- Possess management, analytical and technical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Critical thinking and Attention to detail
Salary: The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $75,000 - $85,000, plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
