As part of our expansion, we are seeking a qualified Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team and contribute to the delivery of premium Australian and Italian cuisine.
Position Summary:We are looking for a qualified and experienced Chef to take part in all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu design, preparation, cooking, and maintaining kitchen standards. The successful applicant must demonstrate culinary expertise in Australian and Italian cuisine and have the ability to thrive in a high-volume kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, prepare, and execute dishes aligned with modern Australian and Italian culinary styles.
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented to high standards of quality and consistency.
- Monitor food safety and hygiene practices in accordance with HACCP and WHS guidelines.
- Assist with creating seasonal menus and daily specials.
- Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff.
- Manage stock control and assist in ordering supplies.
- Collaborate with the restaurant management to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Minimum 2 years’ full-time experience as a Chef de Partie or Commis Chef in a busy, high-volume commercial kitchen.
- Proven expertise in Australian and Italian cuisine is essential.
- Strong communication, leadership, and time management skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a clean and efficient kitchen.
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (essential).
- Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management (highly regarded).
- Food Safety Certification (preferred).
- Salary of $75,000 plus superannuation.
