Finance Manager - Newly Created Role | $140,000 + Super | CBD + Hybrid Working
A newly created Finance Manager opportunity is now available within a large, global organisation based in Sydney's CBD. This is a key leadership role within a high-performing finance function, offering strong long-term career growth, a collaborative culture, and flexible hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 from home).
The Role
This position will see you managing 2 direct and 6 indirect reports within a large and well-structured finance team. You will be responsible for end-to-end financial reporting, month-end processes, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives, while also coaching and mentoring staff at varying levels of experience.
Team management experience is essential. Whether you've formally led a small team or coached and developed junior staff, you'll need to demonstrate a clear ability to lead, delegate, and develop others in a fast-paced environment.
Strong technical reporting experience is also critical. This organisation operates under highly regulated financial standards and closes month-end by Day 2. You must be confident interpreting and applying accounting standards, and be comfortable working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a team of 2 direct and 6 indirect reports
- Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial close and reporting
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Drive process improvement and reporting efficiencies
- Partner with senior stakeholders across finance and the wider business
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis
- CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent)
- Proven experience managing or mentoring finance staff
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise
- Used to working in a highly regulated environment with tight close deadlines (Day 2 close experience highly regarded)
- Strong attention to detail, deadline-driven, and confident working under pressure
- Experience in a large, complex organisation preferred
