The Harrison Barratt Group is exclusively recruiting for this exciting Civil Engineer position on behalf of a leading mid-tier civil construction contractor. With a strong presence in the civil construction and mining industries, this role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects in a supportive, safety-focused environment.
About the Role
Based in Brisbane, with potential travel across South East Queensland and Central Queensland, this role supports the Estimator and Project Manager throughout all project phases, including tendering, planning, delivery, and finalization. You will play a key part in project coordination, contract management, quality assurance, and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Estimator and Project Manager with project estimating and delivery.
- Coordinate tendering, survey control, and project documentation.
- Review and ensure accuracy in project and contractual documentation.
- Price variations and prepare Construction Time Pathways (CTP’s).
- Manage RFIs and subcontractor coordination for timely project completion.
- Maintain QA documentation, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Monitor and address quality and environmental issues on-site.
- Identify cost savings and provide recommendations for efficiency.
- Contribute to project risk assessment and constructability planning.
- Comply with safety and environmental policies and regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop safe work method statements.
- Actively participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Report all safety and environmental incidents promptly.
- General safety induction card.
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
- Strong understanding of construction techniques and methodologies.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Project.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to project coordination.
