Systems Administrator

At Phillip Riley, we are seeking a skilled and proactive Systems Administrator to join us.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our organisation’s systems, ensuring the optimal performance, security, and reliability of all infrastructure components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and related hardware and software.
- Monitor system performance and ensure availability and reliability of IT services.
- Implement and manage security measures, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Taking ownership of processes, procedures, and day-to-day management related to system security and disaster recovery planning.
- Troubleshoot system issues and provide technical support to staff and users.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, procedures, and configurations.
- Manage backup systems and disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Apply patches and upgrades to ensure systems are up to date.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to support projects and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with IT policies.
- Coordinating with security vendors, suppliers, service providers, and external partners; evaluating, recommending, implementing, and supporting software security solutions; and overseeing contract compliance, performance standards, and service level agreements.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies or system improvements to enhance business operations.
- Diagnosing and resolving server-related hardware and software issues, including support for workstations and communication infrastructure, through troubleshooting and technical service.
- Creating and updating documentation, policies, and guidelines, while recording and detailing operational procedures and system activity logs
Required Skills and Experience:
- Technical Expertise: A strong understanding of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and networking.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Soft Skills: Communication, teamwork, and leadership skills are also important.
- Database Management Systems: Knowledge of various database management systems is often required.
- Security Concepts: Understanding of security principles, including encryption, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
Salary $87,500 - $107,500 + Superannuation
