Thornton Engineering provide design and fabrication of structural steel, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, plate & pilings to clients throughout Australia and they are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Project (Civil) Engineer to join their team in Corio.
The successful candidate will be the single point contact with the client concerning all aspects and deliverables. Key responsibilities will be;- Determine construction methods, materials and quality standards, providing skilled direction to the Production Team.
- Interpreting specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures.
- Provide skilled direction to the Production Team in planning and allocating resources.
- Monitor and provide ongoing tracking of individual projects.
- Studying engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs, and preparing detailed cost plans and estimates as tools to assist in budgetary control
- Provide technical assistance and advice on advanced work systems and practices
- Designing the physical aspects of transportation systems such as highways, railroads, urban transit, air transportation, logistical supply systems and their terminals
- Communicate with the construction, finance and production teams
- Be able to work under pressure
Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ experience
- A strong knowledge of Civil Engineering
- The ability to work in a team environment
Salary range is $70,000-$95,000pa commensurate with experience
