About the roleWe are looking to employ three Food & Beverage Team Leaders in fulltime ongoing roles.
As a Food & Beverage Team Leader, you will support the smooth conduct and customer focused delivery of food and beverages throughout one of the hotels 5 distinct venues on the island. You will be working with the team on shift to deliver exceptional service, creating rich and personal experiences to our valued guests. In this role, you will be required to:- Provide a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times
- Taking orders from guests and delivers food and drinks to guests within the venues
- Provides recommendations and suggestions to customers regarding menu items
- Assist the Venue Manager in coordinating the team to create a seamless guest experience
- Direct Team Members and assist in the set up of tables and seating arrangement prior to and during service periods
- Follow health and safety regulations and maintains a clean and hygienic work environment
About you
InterContinental Hayman Great Barrier Reef requires a Food and Beverage Team Leader. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, making it easy for guests to approach you with concerns or compliments, ensuring a positive experience for all.Your problem-solving abilities will turn challenges into opportunities, allowing every guest to leave with great memories. Fluency in the local language is essential, and additional language skills are a plus, while strong reading and writing abilities are important for following instructions.
The role requires physical fitness, as you will be on your feet for most of the day and need to bend and kneel frequently.
Intended commencement date for this position would be the 7th of July 2025, with the role being permanent and located on Hayman Island, Queensland.
What we offerAppropriate Australian working rights are required for this role.
- The base hourly rate for this position is $26.78 under the Hayman Island Enterprise Agreement, working a minimum of 38 hours per week across a 7-day roster with shifts spanning from early in the morning until later at night.

No previous experience is necessary as training will be provided. Successful candidates may also have the opportunity to learn and acquire additional skills during their employment.
