Boyer Jones Group is looking for an experienced full time Pastry Cook to work at Reverie Prahran.The successful applicant will be willing to work hard in one of Melbourne's busiest restaurants.In this role you will be:Preparing and cooking food with colleagues, while adhering to dietary requirementskneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goodspreparing pastry fillingsmonitoring oven temperatures to ensure optimal bakingbaking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of brioche, rolls and pastry productsglazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icingSeasoning food during cookingExamining food to ensure qualityPortioning food, plating, adding sauces and garnishesFollow the guidance of the executive and/or sous chef and have input in new ways of presentation or dishesOptimizing the cooking process with attention to speed and qualityStoring foodAdhering to strict health and hygiene standardsHelping to maintain a climate of smooth and friendly cooperation
Skills required:Relevant Diploma or Cert IV and at least 1 year of relevant experience, or at least 3 years of relevantexperience as a Pastry Cook in a busy kitchen.Similar restaurant experience a must.Ability to work on hot and cold sections a necessity.Good hours, great working environment.
